Our Visions

Progressive Change – ACONA will strive to continually improve on our programs and activities in order to enhance the socio-economic well being of Asantes in North America, and promote the dignity of Asante sacred institutions, including chieftancy.

Goals

(From ACONA Constitution, as ratified in Chicago, IL on September 6, 1992)

Promote cooperation, harmony, understanding and unity among member associations.

Assist member associations in exposing and promoting Asante culture, and uphold and dignify the institution of ‘chieftancy’.

Serve as the mouthpiece for all Asnateman Associations in North America on matters/issues of mutual interest and/or concern.

Provide a forum to resolve conflicts and misunderstandings between member associations.

Encourage and assist member associations to undertake cultural education as a means to inculcate Asante cultural, traditional and social values in the children of Asantes.

Raise funds to assist the Asanteman Development Fund in Kumasi, Ghana and also provide material and financial assistance to health care institutions, social agencies and philanthropic organizations in Asante in particular, and Ghana as a whole.

Objectives

ACONA will measure its successes by the following objectives: To understand the needs and expectations of member associations, and help them to achieve those needs and expectations.

To establish a strong partnering relationship with Manhyia and to help promote and maintain a dignified Asante Culture, including Chieftancy.

To establish and benefit from the results of our performance-based, and value-added social and economic programs.
